Updates for Washburn, Nose Lake and Cassian

Published: January 13, 2025

As the saying goes” third time is a charm”.  That is where we sit with grooming the ski trails.  This is our third attempt(hopefully our last) to get the trails ready for the season.  It has been about three weeks since our last compaction.  Since then, the base has all but disappeared.  What remained was icy, and crusty.  We got in the neighborhood of 5-6 inches of fluffy snow.  The snow had no real structure, and is not allowing us to create any tracks.  The coverage was not very uniform, and there are visible thin spots, along with some icy spots.  What we did at all three venues was too compact the trails with the groomers. We were able to produce a corduroy deck.  The trails are skiable, but would not recommend the good skis, just yet.
