WASHBURN HIKE & BIKE TRAILS CLOSED 3/11/25

Published: March 11, 2025
In coordination with Oneida County and RASTA, the narrow hiking and biking trails at the Washburn Silent Trail Area are closed.
The trail closures are important to protect the trail surface. These trails, as rugged as they look, are actually constructed by trail builders. Just leaving foot prints can cause damage and erosion to the trails that require time and money to repair.  The trails are especially susceptible to damage during spring thaw.
We all want to get on the trails as soon as possible, but please respect the trail closures to protect the trails. The trail closed signs will be removed as soon as conditions allow.
The wider ski trails are open for use, but if you notice any damage on the ski trails please don’t walk on them until they dry out.
Reports are that the Perch Lake parking lot is very slippery.
Thank you for your cooperation to protect these trails for the long term enjoyment of everyone
