We received between 6-8 inches of snow since 11/26. This snow doesn’t have much structure to it. However, we began work on our base at Nose Lake and Washburn by rolling today. The snow compressed down to a relatively thin layer, and will firm up with the colder temperatures. If you ski this snow, temper your expectations, because we need at least one more measurable snowfall to begin grooming. It is our hope to roll Cassian later this week, but we need to inspect one last wet spot that needs to freeze over before we haul heavy equipment over it.
Nose Lake and Cassian update 6/12
As of today both the Cassian and Nose Lake trails have been mowed. Grass is short, and should make for some easy going. With the breezy conditions, bugs maybe less of a nuisance. Have fun out there.
