Enterprise Trails

The Enterprise Winter Silent Sports Trail is located 8 miles south of Rhinelander on Hwy G, with the trailhead at the parking lot at the Zimmer Road entrance.  The trail is groomed for fat-tire biking, snowshoeing, and back-country skiing.  The trail has both an 8 mile long loop, and a shorter cut-off creating a loop of almost 4 miles.   This trail is unique as it traverses through peat bogs, black spruce swamps, navigates glacial eskers, and crosses the Enterprise Hemlocks State Natural Area with stands of mature mesic forest heavily dominated by Hemlock, many over 200 years old with some dating back to 1720 A.D.  Much of this area is only accessible in winter.  Dogs are permitted.  Please, no foot traffic without wearing snowshoes.
