Washburn and Cassian updates for 1/15

After receiving a paltry 1 inch on Monday morning we cleaned up the skate deck, but didn’t touch the classic tracks.  We want the new snow to be skied over, so as to cover some ice that was making up the tracks in spots. Same thing goes for Cassian.  A …

Mud Lake fat bike trails

Trails were groomed Thursday night and are in good shape. There is logging at the North end of Terry’s Loop so please be careful and considerate of those working.

Cassian and Nose Lake updates 1/12

We received 3 inches of snow yesterday.  This allowed us to reset the tracks on both trails.   The cold temperatures will allow for some solid tracks, and prime skiing conditions.

Washburn Silent Sports Cross Country Ski Trail, January 12, 2018

2

Approximately 2-3 inches of new snow was groomed this morning. All classic tracks were reset. There are a few areas with dirt in the tracks so pay attention.  Deck looks really nice.  No visible dirt at this time.  Deck remains thin in some areas.

Washburn, Cassian, and Nose Lake updates 1/3

Good news for classic skiers.  There is now a track at Washburn.  The track is not consistent throughout.  Those sections of trail designated as track skiing only will have a nice track.  For those of you familiar with Washburn, that would mean the classic double track from Kiosk C to …

Enterprise 12/29/17

Enterprise was groomed tonight. Short and long loop. It was the first time grooming the short loop, so it may be really soft.

Washburn update 12/29

The skate deck was reset this afternoon.  Groomers put the teeth down into the deck trying to mix last nights fluff with the old snow.  With the cold temps. , the trail will harden in no time at all.  Still do not have classic tracks…we need more white stuff.

Washburn,Cassian, and Nose Lake update 12/22

1

Well skiers, its been a dry week.  The promised snow didn’t materialize, except for a dusting on Wed.  However our trails are still open, but you may want to use those “B” skis. We brushed up the Washburn trail yesterday.  With the lack of snow, debris is beginning to collect, …

Washburn Cross County Ski Grooming Report, December 15, 2017

There was about an inch of new snow on the trail after grooming Thursday.  We did not set tracks as the depth of snow is not consistent enough.  The track set towards the Cassian trail has several dirt spots showing.  In general, the deck is firm and pretty good.  I …

Cassian and Nose Lake update 12/15

Both trails had classic tracks set today.  The tracks  appeared to set up nicely, especially with the cold temps.  There will be patches of vegetation poking through in spots, but certainly nothing to warrant rock skis. At Nose Lake there are some bumpy spots in and around where the last …
