Cassian, Washburn update 2/9

As promised the Cassian trail was tracked today.  If today’s cold temperatures held you back, tomorrow looks warmer and this trail is ready for you. The skate deck was cleaned up today, and the tracks are in great shape.

Washburn,Nose Lake, and Cassian update 2/8

It has finally stopped snowing, and we got about 15+ inches.  All the trails are well covered, and its good ski time.  Nose Lake was groomed this morning, and the tracks should be firm with the cold temperatures.  Washburn was just finished around noon today.  There is a fresh deck …

Washburn,Cassian and Nose Lake update 2/6

We received 7+ inches of new snow last night.  With that said, today our crews spend their time compacting and rolling  the trails.  No grooming was done, because tomorrow we are going to repeat yesterday’s snowfall. That means more compacting and rolling starting tomorrow(in the p.m.).  Finally, on Friday we …

Washburn,Cassian, and Nose Lake update 2/4

With the melting/freezing the snow is going through, it has been decided that we will be tearing up the tracks and scarifying the deck at all three trail locations for tomorrow.  A couple of inches of snow are predicted for tomorrow evening/Wed. a.m.  Because of that on Wed, the deck …

Cassian update 1/24

In advance of the predicted snowstorm on Tuesday, we decided to rip up the tracks at Cassian.  Mother Nature threw us a curve and left us pretty high and dry with that snowfall.  However, since then we’ve had three days of snow showers.  In the end it left us with …

Washburn, Nose Lake update 1/24

Washburn has had its deck brushed over, and new track were set yesterday.  Be aware there is scattered vegetation trhoughout the trail system.  The new tracks are not deep, since we missed out on the deeper snows of earlier this week.  We have been receiving fluffy snow showers since 1/22, …

Cassian update 1/10

The trail was tracked for the first time this morning.  Do not expect mint conditions.  The tracks will be shallow, icy, and some spots will have debris in them. Snow texture for grooming was not the best, as the snow was icy.  Continue using the rock skis.

Washburn update 1/9

All loops were groomed this morning.  The skate deck is ready for those good skis.  Classic tracks were set, but the tracks are shallow, therefore keep using those rock skis.   In addition, there is some debris in the tracks. The landfill loop was not tracked, because it is very …

Nose Lake, Washburn, and Cassian update 2/8

We received 4+ inches of snow Monday.  The downside, is it was a very wet snow, accompanied by light rain.  Needless to say it left us with a soggy deck.  The temperatures did not drop as anticipated until this afternoon.  With that said, Nose Lake and Washburn will be groomed …

Washburn and Cassian update 1/3

Both trails have been cleaned up within the past two days.  Considering the amount of snow, they groomed up nicely.  Be aware of the higher temperatures for Friday and Saturday.  The middle of the day is forecasted to be above freezing so try to avoid those times in an effort …
