Logging at Washburn Silent Sports Trails to Begin July 15th 2023

We have recently been notified that timber harvesting will soon begin within the Washburn Silent Sports Trail System.  The planned harvest is depicted by hash marks in the map below.  This will immediately affect a portion of the classic ski loop trail, as well as a portion of “The Original” bike/snowshoe …

“Washburn Single Track Trails Closed

In coordination with Oneida County the single track trails at Washburn have been closed for the spring melt and thaw.  Please stay off the trails until the closed signs are taken down and the trails are reopened.

Any foot or bike traffic on these non-vegetated trails while they are saturated can do significant damage that is difficult and time consuming to fix.

We will work with the County to open the trails as soon as possible, but it will require the ground on the single track trails to completely dry out.

In the meantime we are leaving the ski trails open for light use, BUT please do not use the ski trails if the soils are,  saturated and being damaged.”

Thanks for your  cooperation.  We’re looking forward to sunny dry days to help thaw and dry out the trails for fun to come.
