RASTA will be sponsoring a free ($75 value) CPR class in May 2021, for any RASTA member interested in simply learning, being certified, or taking a refresher course in CPR.
CPR is a life saver. Read the following testimonial from RASTA President Scott Watson:
The first thing I heard waking up in the ICU was the nurse telling me, “You had a heart attack riding your mountain bike. Your friend gave you CPR and saved your life. You are very lucky.”It’s true, we were riding mountain bike trails in the woods and if it wasn’t for my friend Steve Engel providing me CPR immediately I wouldn’t be here. I wouldn’t be planning for a full recovery, I wouldn’t be looking forward to trips with my wife, and I wouldn’t be able to get back on a bike and ride through the woods again someday. All of this and more is in my future, because Steve had CPR training and kept me alive until the EMTs got to the site.
As a survivor, I’m here to say thank you to everyone that has taken CPR & First Aid Training. CPR is a gift of life for others; your family, a friend, a stranger. I believe it is especially important for people who play in remote locations, you may be the only one around. Are you prepared?
I stayed current in CPR for over 30 years and while I never needed to use it, I definitely plan to take a refresher course this year. Please consider doing the same.
