5+ inches of new snow arrived today. Washburn was rolled tonight, and will be groomed tomorrow. Cassian is bing rolled tomorrow, and will be groomed on Friday. Nose Lake will be rolled tomorrow, and possibly groomed. If not tomorrow, by Friday it will be groomed.
This morning the groomers refreshed the skate deck, but didn’t touch any of the classic tracks. Classic tracks will be redone after the next snowfall on Wed. In all likelihood we will be doing the same thing on Cassian, but on Thursday or Friday.
We finally did it. All three trails as of tomorrow morning will be ready to go. Washburn had the final touches done to it today. All new tracks were completed today, along with the skate deck. Nose Lake had new tracks set today , as well. Cassian got its final roll this morning, and we will be setting tracks tomorrow morning. For the weekend, Washburn will have its skate deck cleaned up on Sat. morning, and again either late Sat. , or early Sunday. Go out and take advantage of the 15+ inches we received.
In case you haven’t noticed but we’ gotten somewhere in the neighborhood of 15″ of new snow. We are working as quickly as possble to get all three trail systems up and running…….please be patient. Washburn and Nose Lake were both compacted and rolled today. Washburn is being rolled a second time as I speak. Depending on how much snow falls tonight will dictate if it gets rolled again tomorrow, of if we can begin grooming it. Nose Lake was compacted and rolled once today. It will be rolled again one more time early tomorrow. Grooming for Nose Lake will take place either tomorrow, or early Thursday. Cassian will get some attention tomorrow(compacting/rolling), but probably won’t get tracked until Thursday a.m.
As promised the Cassian trail was tracked today. If today’s cold temperatures held you back, tomorrow looks warmer and this trail is ready for you.
The skate deck was cleaned up today, and the tracks are in great shape.
It has finally stopped snowing, and we got about 15+ inches. All the trails are well covered, and its good ski time. Nose Lake was groomed this morning, and the tracks should be firm with the cold temperatures. Washburn was just finished around noon today. There is a fresh deck and new tracks. Caissian is being rolled and compacted as I type this. It will be skiable, and tracks will be set tomorrow morning. They should be ready by noon. Enjoy the new snow.
We received 7+ inches of new snow last night. With that said, today our crews spend their time compacting and rolling the trails. No grooming was done, because tomorrow we are going to repeat yesterday’s snowfall. That means more compacting and rolling starting tomorrow(in the p.m.). Finally, on Friday we plan starting the grooming. The immediate plan is to have Nose Lake and Washburn ready by days end. We plan on getting Cassian up and running by mid Sat. a.m. With the rolling, the trails are skiable, but keep your expectations toned down a little. We should have some nice skiing conditions once the grooming is completed.
With the melting/freezing the snow is going through, it has been decided that we will be tearing up the tracks and scarifying the deck at all three trail locations for tomorrow. A couple of inches of snow are predicted for tomorrow evening/Wed. a.m. Because of that on Wed, the deck at Washburn will be reset, and new track at Nose Lake will be put down. More snow is predicted for Thursday, and on Friday and Saturday both Washburn and Cassian will get new tracks.
